Healthier Together Workplaces Program Supporting Resources 

The Healthier Together Workplaces Program guides coordinated action in the four key areas of a healthy work environment:  physical environment, psychosocial environment, personal health resources and behaviours and community connections.

The program is supported by worksheets, templates, frameworks and supplementary readings to ensure success each step of the way. All of the resources are all accessible to users in conjunction with the appropriate step of the program. Many of the resources can help provide more context and a clearer picture of what effort that will need to be invested for an organization to complete the program. Here is a list of a few available resources and tools in the program.

General Resources

  • Cost Savings Calculator: a tool to help estimate how much money your organization can save by investing in a workplace health program.

  • Benchmark Overview: an overview of the benchmarks required for all levels of the program.

  • Value of Investment Infographic: this tool will help you deliver your pitch to leadership and will highlight existing evidence documenting the impacts of a healthy workplace on employee productivity and the organizations bottom line

  • Return on Investment Tracking Tool: this tool and user guide is designed to measure the Return on Investment (ROI) of policies and programs that you put into action in the workplace.

  • Sample Employee Health Needs Survey: a sample employee health needs and interests survey that you can customize or use as.

  • Employee Health Needs Survey Facilitator Guide: this document will help the committee administer the employee health needs survey and assess the results of the survey with the staff and decide on next steps.

  • Healthy Workplace Assessment Tool: this tool assesses your current organization policies, programs and practices and highlights strengths and opportunities for improvement across four action areas: physical environment, psychosocial environment, personal health resources and behaviours and community connections.

  • Healthy Workplace Assessment Tool Glossary: this document will clarify ambiguous terms in the assessment tool.

  • Health Workplace Assessment Tool Facilitators Guide: this document will help you facilitate the completion of the organizational assessment tool and determine what to do with the results.

  • Priority Mapping Diagram: this tool is an effective way for you to determine areas to prioritize in your workplace action plan.  It helps you make decisions on actions according to the efforts they will take and the potential impact they will produce.

  • Healthy Workplace Action Plan Template: this tool will lead you through a series of questions to help you develop objectives across the 4 actions areas and set performance indicators to measure your success.
